Troy - Allen M. Spooner, Age 76 of Columbia Cross Roads passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center, Elmira, NY. Allen was born June 24, 1935 in Chelsea, VT son of the late Milton and Doris (Marshall) Spooner. He and the former Nancy (Teisher) Spooner were married October 2, 1954 and celebrated 57 years together. Allen was employed in sales and later as a project manager and consultant. He also worked as an estimator for various construction projects. He is most noted for his custom woodworking and being busy in his shop where he worked on all types of projects. Allen was a member of the Austinville Union Church and had previously attended the North Branch N.J. Reformed Church where he was a Deacon, sang in the choir, was in many church plays and served with the Jail Chaplains Program serving those who were in need. Allen’s memberships included, the Austinville Union Church, the Woodworkers Guild in New Jersey where he received a Lifetime Membership award. He was also a Scout Leader with the Explorer Scouts for many years and a member of the Middlesex Modelers where he received the Presidents Award for his untiring efforts and enduring services. In his spare time he enjoyed control line model airplanes, building miniature dollhouses and furniture and was an avid mechanic who could fix anything. He also liked to go camping with his family whom he loved dearly. Survivors include his loving wife Nancy Spooner of Columbia Cross Roads, PA, daughters and sons-in-law, Joni (Richard) Nodes of Lebanon, NJ, Kim (Stephen) Larrimore of Kennesaw, GA, Laura (Robert) Potts of Lopatcong, NJ, Amy (Mark) Burkitt Fairbury, NB, Debra (Michael) McManus of Kennesaw, GA, sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffrey (Carrie) Spooner of Whitehouse Station, NJ, and Mark (Amy) Spooner of Boise, ID, a brother and sister-in-law, John (Margaret) Spooner of Stanhope, NJ, sisters and brother-in-law, Nona Spooner of Morristown, NJ, Edna Spooner of Bridgeport, WV and Lynne (John) Potter of Valatie, NY, 21 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and friends. Allen was predeceased by his parents and a grandson, Scott Burkitt. Family and friends are invited to call from 1 to 2 PM Saturday, January 7, 2012 at the Austinville Union Church, Troy, PA 16947. Funeral service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 2 PM with Reverend Kenneth Marple officiating. Interment will be in Baptist Hill Cemetery. Memorials are directed to the Austinville Union Church, 8698 Old State Road, Troy, PA 16947. Funeral arrangements are under the direction ofthe Gerald W.
