Allan H. "Bob" Burns, Jr.

YORK – Allan H. “Bob” Burns, Jr., 83, passed away Monday, November 27, 2023 at his residence. He was the husband of the late Helen (Mosetti) Burns to whom he was married for 59 years.

Born March 3, 1940 in Baltimore, he was a son of the late Allan H. Burns, Sr. and Dorothy (Baker) Burns.

Bob was a machinist for Tate Andale and Carr Lowrey Glass Company for most of his working life, later retiring in 2005. In his free time, he was a member of Train Model Association and enjoyed collecting model trains. Bob also enjoyed watching baseball and football, rooting for any Baltimore team and in his younger years, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He was an ice cream lover, enjoyed spending time with his family and was so proud of his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren.

Mr. Burns is survived by his three children, Shelley Winters (John) of Red Lion, Michael Burns of Ellicott City, MD, Christopher Burns of Essex, MD; three grandchildren, Valerie Marrero (Steve), Lauren Lerew (Aaron), Nicholas Winters (Melanie); eight great-grandchildren, Alexis, Cameron, Corey, Brandon, John, Paisley, Briella, Lily; a sister, Carol Giuffre; two nephews, Frank Giuffre, Tom Giuffre (Laurie); a niece, Susan Chenoweth; and great-nephews, Jacob, Aiden and Keeley. Mr. Burns is preceded in death by his wife, Helen; a brother, Charles Burns; and two nephews, Kenny and Brian.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Certified Celebrant Allison Duke will be officiating the service. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion is assisting the family with the arrangements.
