Allan Edward Duffey, Iii

YORK- Allan Edward Duffey, III, 77, died on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Charlotte R. (Shepp) Duffey. The couple wed on August 3, 1984.

A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York with the Reverend Kevin T. Shively, York City Department of Fire & Rescue Chaplain, officiating. A viewing will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to the service with Fire Department Honors. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery with full military honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Born on March 5, 1947 in York, he was a son of the late Allan E. and Mary Catherine (Boll) Duffey, Jr. Allan was a 1965 graduate of York Catholic High School. He was a firefighter with the York City Fire Department for 32 years until his retirement. He also owned and operated A E Duffey Racing Engines.

Mr. Duffey served our country for three years and nine months in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Allan was a member of the York County Garageman's Association, Vigilant Social Club and York County Racing Club. He enjoyed race cars and building racing engines.

Along with his wife, Charlotte, Allan is survived by two daughters, Christine Jordan and her husband, Anthony of York and Lisa Fuhrman and her significant other, Randy Woods of York; two sons, Kevin Hale and his wife, Christin of Cranston, RI and Corey Hale of York; four grandchildren, Eliot Hale, Julia Hale, Kiaya Reichert and her husband, Don and Holly Klein and her husband, Korey; two great grandchildren, Karter Klein and Elian Klein; two brothers, Patrick Duffey and his wife, Bobbie of Columbia, and Michael Duffey and his wife, Patrice of York and a niece, Gabrielle Duffey.
