Alice Elizabeth Brennan, 91, entered into her heavenly home surrounded by the love of her family on January 19, 2021 at York Hospital. She was known as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Alice was the wife of the late Charles “Chuck” R. Brennan. The couple was wed on December 29, 1956, and they lived together for over 40 years in Baltimore and Forest Hill, MD. Chuck passed away on May 2, 1997. A memorial mass will be held at St. Ignatius Catholic Church 533 E Jarrettsville Rd, Forest Hill, MD 21050 on January 25, 2021 at 1:30 PM. Services will be live streamed on the Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/olewilertributes/ Burial will follow and Alice will be laid to rest alongside her husband Chuck at BelAir Memorial Gardens in BelAir, MD. A celebration of her life will be held on a future date due to the pandemic. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory Inc. 35 Gotham Pl. Red Lion, PA 17356 is in charge of arrangements. Born in Baltimore, MD on December 16, 1929, Alice was the daughter of the late Frank and Agnes (Garrett) vonRinteln. She graduated high school from the College of Notre Dame and earned her nursing degree from Church Home Hospital, both in Baltimore, MD. They raised their five children as well as four of her brother’s children during the younger years of their lives. Mrs. Brennan practiced nursing for Dr. Dorman, a private practice Obstetrician in Baltimore and then at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Towson, MD, all while raising five to seven children. For the past eight years, Alice lived under the loving care of JoAnn and Keith Zimmerman in Windsor, PA. She loved attending the Golden Connections Community Center to visit with her friends. Alice will be remembered by cooking with a flamethrower to get meals ready for the family (just kidding). She loved to sing opera along with the Metropolitan Opera House radio program on Saturdays. Mrs. Brennan loved camping with the family and eating crabs. Alice was a Baltimore Colts and a Ravens fan, which created some fun times when she moved into a Steelers House. She had a lovely sense of humor which the kids pushed to the limit, but knew where the limit was. Alice is survived by four children; Mary Lou Bowers (Keith), Gary Brennan (Edie), JoAnn Zimmerman (Keith), Christopher Brennan; six grandchildren, Daniel Bowers, Christopher Bowers, Shawn Brennan, Meghan Gragg, Amanda Mehring, Stacey Robinson; three great-grandchildren, Will and Emily Robinson, Mackenzie Mehring; and her special niece, Patti Kurz. Alice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son Timothy Brennan and her younger brother, Frank “Bud” vonRinteln Jr. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Alice’s memory to the Golden Connections Community Center, 20 Gotham Place, Red Lion, PA. 17356.
