Alice E. Boothroyd

HANOVER-Alice E. (Moore) Boothroyd, 70, of West Manheim Township, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at York Skilled Nursing/ Rehabilitation Center in York. She was the wife of David A. Boothroyd. The couple celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on December 26, 2022.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, November 24, 2023 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York, with a viewing from 1-2:30 p.m. Timothy Munson, Chaplain Caring Hospice, will be officiating at the service.

Mrs. Boothroyd was born in Timonium, MD on July 23, 1953, the daughter of Robert E. and Fern Lee (Englund) Moore. She retired from Joann Fabric Store, where she was a district manager of the Baltimore area stores. She enjoyed sewing, playing the piano, and her younger years skiing.

Along with her husband, Alice leaves a daughter, Amy Elizabeth Boothroyd and her husband Joshua of Hanover; three grandchildren, Ashly Fischer, Brynn Boothroyd, and Nolan Boothroyd; two brothers, Robert Moore of Dagsboro, DE, Jack Moore of Apex, NC; a sister, Mary Louise Wirkus of Albert Lea, MN; as well as nieces and nephews.
