Alfred W. Mason

MILTON - Alfred W. Mason, 80, died Thursday, March 8, 2018 at his residence. He was born in Point Marion and was the son of the late William and Ethel (Thomas) Mason. On November 18, 1964 Alfred married the former Carolyn E. (Tanner) and they celebrated 49 years of marriage together until her death on November 24, 2013. Alfred was a graduate of Point Marion High School and went on to earn a certificate in welding at Williamsport Technical School and worked as a welder for ACF, Milton where he retired after 40 years. He was a member of St. Paul’s A.M.E. Church, Milton, I.B.P.O.E. and the Edgar A. Stills Lodge #207 of Williamsport. Alfred enjoyed traveling, sports and spending time with his grandchildren. Alfred is survived by one son; Alfred J. Mason of Orlando, FL, one daughter and son-in-law; Dhana M. and Eddie Jacobs of Baltimore, MD, five grandchildren; Deja, Kiashea, Michaela, Jeniaya and Jaylon, one sister; Wilma Harper of Uniontown, two brothers-in-law; Edgar and David Tanner both of Allentown along with numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Alfred was preceded in death by one granddaughter; Ebonee Mason, one brother; Earnest Mason, three sisters; Elizabeth king, Veralena Mason and Delores Mason, one brother-in-law; Albert Tanner and one sister-in-law; Gayle Tanner. A public viewing will be held from 7:00p.m. – 9:00p.m., Friday, March 16, 2018 at Dale Ranck Cremation & Funeral Care, 125 N. Front Street, Milton and again from 10:00a.m. – 11:00a.m., Saturday, March 17, 2018 followed by the funeral at 11:00a.m. with the Reverend C. Bill Mangrum officiating. Burial will follow in Harmony Cemetery, Milton.
