LOCKPORT - Alfred S. “Butch” Miller, 78, of Lock Haven died Saturday morning, January 20, 2018 at The Gatehouse in Williamsport. He was born in Lock Haven on July 9, 1939 a son of the late Stanley L. Miller and Dorothy (Brownlee) Johnsonbaugh. Butch worked as a corrections officer for Rockview retiring in 1998 after 171/2 years. He was also a policeman for the city of Lock Haven from 1965 - 1973 obtaining the rank of Sergeant he also was a policeman for the Jersey Shore Regional Police Department from 1973 – 1978. He served in the Navy from January 1958 to May 1962 as a Petty Officer and he received the Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police since 1965 and a 1957 graduate of Lock Haven High School. Butch enjoyed hunting and fishing. Surviving are three sons; Mark Miller of Lock Haven and twin sons Brian Miller of Altoona and Michael Miller of Lock Haven and two daughters Kathleen (Francis, Jr.) Poorman of Mill Hall and Jolene Miller of Lock Haven. Four grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Also surviving are three sisters; Janet Rishel of VA, Patricia Yohe of FL and Barbara “Jean” Campana of Lock Haven. The funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall. Friends and relatives will be received one hour prior to the service. Burial will be private at Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven.
