YORK- Alfred S. DeVono, II, 61, of York Township died Saturday, May 25, 2013 at his residence. He was the dear life partner of Harold “Hal” Jones. A viewing will be held from 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ, 450 West Main Street in Mountville. Pastor Megan Maleck will be officiating at the service. Mr. DeVono was born in York on November 6, 1951, the son of Theda (Bull) DeVono of Red Lion and the late Alfred S. DeVono. He managed several area Rutter’s Dairy Farm Stores, worked for Caterpillar, and was a shareholder of DeVono’s Dry Cleaners, Inc. Mr. DeVono was a member of Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ in Mountville. He was an award winning dog show breeder, handler, and judge for the American Kennel Club. Mr. DeVono leaves a sister, Nancy DeVono Delp and her husband Larry of Red Lion and a niece Ellen Delp.
