FELTON- Alfred G. Stephens, 76, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at his residence. He was the husband of Patricia M. (Scully) Stephens. The couple planned to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on January 13th. A celebration of life memorial service will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 14th, 2011 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion with the Reverend David Mosebrook officiating. A viewing will be from 6-9 p.m. on Friday and a visitation from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday, both at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Roundhill Presbyterian Cemetery with full military honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Mr. Stephens was born on September 13, 1934 in Baltimore, a son of the late Alfred G. and Margaret E. (Conner) Stephens. Alfred worked as a Meat Cutter for the Food Fair, Pantry Pride and Giant Foods, from which he retired. Mr. Stephens and his wife and family were members of Felton Fellowship of Faith Church, where he served as a deacon. Alfred also served our country in the United State Marine Corps. Along with his wife, Patricia, Mr. Stephens is survived by a son, Matthew G. Stephens and his wife, Ruth of Brogue; three daughters, Victoria A. Bartnik and her husband, Dennis of Red Lion, Kathleen E. Potter and her husband Robert of Felton and Lisa M. Arnold and her husband, Gerald of Severna Park, MD; seven grandchildren; one brother, Robert Stephens of Carroll Co., MD; two sisters, Margaret E. Leimbach of Spokane, WA and Mary N. Laws of Westminster, MD; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Joan L. Shipley of Edgewood, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Compassion International or Samaritan’s Purse, both c/o Felton Fellowship of Faith Church, 53 Main St. Felton, PA 17322.
