DUPONT-Alex Liskowicz, 82, of Hemlock Street, Dupont, died Monday, April 2, 2007 in Hospice Care of the VNA, Heritage House, Wilkes-Barre. Born in Dupont on February 20, 1925, he was a son of the late Michael and Aniela Glodek Liskowicz. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Dupont, and the Polish American Citizens Club. Prior to retiring in 1990, he was employed by Tobyhanna Army Depot in the electronic maintenance department. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, the former Theodora Piechota; sons and daughters-in-law, Drs. David and Cindy Likov, Kingston; Dr. Robert and Susan Liskowicz, Laflin; daughter Carol Stopa, R.N., widow of Dr. Peter Stopa; Freeland, MD; grandchildren, Melanie and Steven Liskov and mark and Sarah Liskowicz; sisters Sophie Turos, Clifton, NJ; Marlyn Bober, Lafayette, NJ; many nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. from the Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, Inc., 728 main Street, Avoca, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Dupont. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care of the VNA, 80 East Northampton Street, Wilkes-Barre.
