YorkAlene T. (Ilyes) Kerchner, passed away, Sunday, October 10, 2010 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Sterling F. Kerchner, to whom she was married for 44 years. A funeral service will be 11 a.m., Thursday, October 14, 2010 at Christ Lutheran Church, 126 W. Main Street, Dallastown, with her pastor, the Rev. Lawrence Cunnings, officiating. A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m., at the church. Burial will be private in St. Jacobs Union Cemetery, York New Salem. Life Tributes by Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, is in charge of arrangements. Born February 4, 1916 in York Township, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary (Boyer) Ilyes. She was a loving homemaker and wonderful mother and grandmother. Sewing and quilting was something Mrs. Kerchner enjoyed very much and for many years she was part of Christ Lutherans quilting group. She was a member of the Golden Agers in Dallastown and a former member of the Order of Eastern Star. Mrs. Kerchner, is survived by one son, Frederick S. Kerchner, and his wife, Brenda of Brogue, three daughters, Norma J. Workinger and her husband, William of Red Lion, Suzanne J. Straley and her husband, Darryl of Butler and Beth E. Williamson and her husband, Larry of York, 8 grandchildren, 18 great grand children and nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Christ Lutheran Church, 126 W. Main Street, Dallastown, Pa 17313. Cemetery: St. Jacob\'s Union Cemetery
