Alberta T. (Penkauskas) Kunstek

POTTSVILLE- Alberta T. (Penkauskas) Kunstek, 91, of Pottsville passed away on Monday, August 12, 2013 at the Schuylkill Center in Pottsville. She was the loving wife of the late Stephen A. Kunstek who passed away in 1999. The couple married November 22, 1944 and had 55 happy years together. Alberta was born on August 18, 1921 in Seltzer, PA, daughter of the late Anthony and Esther (Verankis) Penkauskas. She was a Pottsville High School graduate, Class of 1939. Alberta was a sewing machine operator for Van Heusen in Pottsville for over 20 years and retired from B&J Knitting in Pottsville. She was a member of the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Pottsville. Alberta is survived by her sons David (Barbara) Kunstek and Edward Kunstek, both of Pottsville, her grandchildren: David Kunstek, Jr., Michael Kunstek, Jennifer Frie, Krista Dullard, and Shannon Kunstek, her great grandchildren: Nicholas Kunstek, Victoria Kunstek, David Kunstek, III, Izabella Kunstek, Emmerson Frie, Jayson Kunstek, Callie Frie, Dakota Dullard, and Choeli Mae Dullard, along with several nieces and nephews. Alberta was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Stephen, her son Stephen Kunstek, Jr. who passed away in 1950, her brothers Bernard and Tony Penkauskas, her sisters Esther Kuperavage and Irene Shaw, and her daughter-in-law Donna Kunstek who passed away in 2006. Family and friends are welcome to gather from 9:30-10:30 am on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at the Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, Inc. 6th & Market Streets Pottsville, PA. The funeral service to honor Alberta’s Life will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, August 17th at the funeral home with Deacon Jack Quirk officiating. Burial will follow in Queen of the Universe Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Alberta’s memory to Activities Fund at the Schuylkill Center 1000 Schuylkill Manor Rd Pottsville, PA 17901.
