Albert M. Schaeberle

YORK- Albert M. Schaeberle, 88, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2024 at York Hospital. He was the husband of the late Ellen L. (Keemer) Schaeberle, who passed away in 2005. The couple had been married for 50 years.

A private graveside service will be held at Red Lion Cemetery with full military honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion is in charge of arrangements. 

Born on February 29, 1936 in York, he was a son of the late Furl M. and Madaline M. (Raffensberger) Schaeberle. Albert served our country for 20 years in the United States Navy. After retiring from the Navy, Albert was a Deputy Sheriff at the York County Sheriff’s Department. 

Mr. Schaeberle was a member of St. John’s U.C.C. in Red Lion, ELKS Lodge 213 in York, Red Lion American Legion Post 543 and Red Lion VFW Post 1446. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and watching the Baltimore Orioles and football. His passions also included cooking, gardening, collecting Navy memorabilia, and reading the Bible. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Mr. Schaeberle is survived by his son, Robert M. Schaeberle and his wife, Lisa of Red Lion; five daughters, Karen Drawbaugh and her husband, Doug of York, Mary Barshinger and her husband, Wayne of Red Lion, Linda Smith and her husband, Greg of Amesville, OH, Deborah Dubbs of Dover and Lisa Shelly Green of Berea, OH; eight grandchildren, Angie, Scott, Stephanie, Sarah Ann, Spencer, David, Jerrod and Travis; nine great grandchildren, Katherine, Gavin, Nicholas, Robert, Tyler, Austin, Breanna, Aiden and Everly; five great great grandchildren, Braxtyn, Colton, Camden, Callie and Carter; sister, Ethel Lau of Red Lion; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Matthew; great grandson, Christian; son-in-law, Gregory Dubbs; brother, Russel Schaeberle; and half-brother, John Raffensberger.
