Albert E. Druce, 89 of Red Lion died Thursday, January 11, 2007 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Dorothy M. [Ludlow] Druce. A celebration of life service will be 10:00 AM Monday at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion. A viewing will be from 9-10:00 AM Monday at the Funeral Chapel with Masonic Rites provided by Red Lion F&AM, Lodge 649 at 9:50 AM. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens with Full Military Rites provided by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Born January 21, 1917 in Philadelphia, a son of the late Walter and Esther W. [Bidgood] Druce, he retired from Dupont in Philadelphia in 1980 after 38 years of service. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Ridley Park, PA and his Masonic affiliation include, Red Lion Free &Accepted Masons Lodge, 649; and he was a 50 year member of Washington F&AM Lodge, 59 in Philadelphia. Mr. Druce was a US Army veteran of WWII where he earned Seven Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart with Two Oak Leaf Clusters during his combat in the European Theatre. He was also a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars. In addition to his wife, Mr. Druce is survived by three daughters, Michelle N. and husband Robert Jacobson of Oxford, PA, Dolores A. Shaw and companion Richard Hicks of Mullica Hills, NJ, and Sharon P. and husband Normand Champagne of Red Lion; five grandchildren, Heather Watkins, Nicole Jacobson, and Daniel, Philip, and Mathieu Champagne. His brothers preceded him in death. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to SPCA, 3159 Susquehanna Trail N, York, PA 17402 or to Canine Partners for Life, PO Box 170, Cochranville, PA 19330.
