Lazurick-Guers, 100, formerly of Tumbling Run Road, resident of Orwigsburg Center passed away Thursday evening at Orwigsburg Center. Born in Shamokin on January 18, 1912, she was a daughter of the late William J. and Amelia Linder. She was a 1930 graduate of Ashland High School. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church, Pottsville and Lewistown Grange #1639. Prior to retiring, she was employed as a seamstress at Juliette Fashion and a telephone operator at Ansetel. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph “Duke” Lazurick, who passed away in 1957;her second husband James R. Guers, who passed away in 1995; sisters Helen Menne and Caroline Lewis. Surviving are her daughter, Patricia Newton, wife of Howard, of Reading; step daughters Arlene Felty, Tamaqua; Mary Lou Olt, Freehold, NJ; two granddaughters, Pamela Nosti, wife of Joseph, of Womelsdorf, PA and Melissa Newton, of Schuylkill Haven; her two great-grandsons Hunter J. Firing and Connor Flammer; several nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Tuesday morning at 11:00 A.M. in Our Lady of Calvary Chapel, Hillside, Pottsville. Deacon Jack Quirk will officiate. Interment will be held in Our lady of Calvary Cemetery, Hillside, Pottsville. Memorial donations may be made to St. Patrick’s Church, 319 Mahantongo St., Pottsville, PA 17901.
