PALMYRA- William Reid Winter, 78, died on Monday, April 4, 2016 at Middletown Home. He was the husband of the late Elsie P. Winter, who died on November 4, 2009. The couple had been married for 42 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 8, 2016 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York with his pastor, the Reverend Dwight Hein officiating. A viewing will be from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens with full military honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Born on April 29, 1937 in York, he was a son of the late William Reid Winter and Jeanette Virginia (Spangler) Flinchbaugh. William worked for York International for 30 years until his retirement in 1997. Mr. Winter was a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Campbelltown. Mr. Winter served our country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was stationed in Hanau, Germany for four years and was part of the Specialist 2D Infantry Division. William was a member of the UAW Local 1872. Mr. Winter is survived by three daughters, Michelle K. Winter and her companion, Cory Spangler of Palmyra, Debra Seager Killion and her husband, Randy of Winburne and Melody A. Wolfe and her husband Wayne of Felton; one son, Brian A. Seager and his wife, Whitney of Seven Valleys; 14 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; one brother, Curtis Flinchbaugh of York; and one sister, Mary Kornbau of Red Lion. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Ervin C. Flinchbaugh.
