YORK - William Guy Clements, 91 died Friday, April 24, 2009 at York Hospital. He was the loving husband of Fairy (Altland) Clements to whom he was married 68 years. A memorial service will be 11:00 AM, Friday, May 1, 2009 at Paradise (Holtzschwamm) Lutheran Church with his pastor, the Rev. Timothy Seitz-Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Paradise (Holtzschwamm) Union Cemetery. Full military rites will be provided by the York County Veteran's Honor Guard. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Clements was born March 31, 1918 in Charlottesville, Va., a son of the late Drury and Rosa Clements. He was a former Supervisor for York International until his retirement in 1980 after 35 years of service. He then went on to work as a Tip Staff for York County Court House for 13 years. Mr. Clements was a veteran of WWII serving his country in the Merchant Marines. He was a life member of Paradise (Holtzschwamm) Lutheran Church. He was also a member of Zeredatha Lodge #451 since 1974, Tall Cedars #30 since 1975, Square Club #1052 since 1978, Mt Zion Lodge #74 Odd Fellows, American Legion in Shiloh, and VFW in West York. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and woodworking. In addition to his wife, Mr. Clements is survived by a son, Rodney Guy Clements and his wife Angela of Camp Hill; a daughter, Susan Faye Clements-Shrader and husband Joseph of York; four grandchildren, Rodney G. B. Clements, Brooks C. Clements, Eric M. Shrader, and Amy Shrader-Glusco; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Paradise (Holtzschwamm) Lutheran Church, 3241 Church Road, Thomasville, PA, 17364.
