Stephen D. Steen

MANCHESTER—Stephen D. Steen, 78, passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at Manor Care Health Services—Kingston Court. He was the husband of Mary Ann (Wildin) Steen to whom he was married for 57 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be 2PM, Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, 850 Pleasant Grove Rd, York Haven. Officiating the service will be the Rev. Daniel Altimus. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York is in charge of arrangements. Born June 14, 1941 in Cambridge, Mass, he was a son of the late R. Layton and Ruth Y. (Gebow) Steen. He was employed for several years a research chemist and a quality control manager with Dentsply and DuPont. A life member of York/Adams Trap & Skeet and North York County Hunting Club. He was also a member of the American Society of Chemical Engineers and Susquehanna River Water Fowlers Assoc. In addition to his wife, Mr. Steen is also survived by three sons, William M. “Bud” Steen and wife, Gudrun, Ralph L. Steen and wife, Nicole and Jonathan R. Steen and wife, Eva Maria; three granddaughters, Erja, Njala and Ajla and one sister, Shelley Ackerman. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, 850 Pleasant Grove Rd, York Haven Pa 17370.
