Raymond E. "Tex" Ritter, Jr.

DOVER- Raymond E. "Tex" Ritter, Jr., 84, passed away Sunday, October 11, 2015 at his home. He was the husband of Sally F. (Mason) Ritter. The couple celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary August 20th of this year. A graveside service will be at the convenience of the family in Salem Union Cemetery. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York, is in charge of arrangements. Born January 4, 1931 in York, Tex was a son of the late Raymond E. and Helen M. (Haggerman) Ritter. He worked over 35 years as a stone cutter for King Monument. Raymond was a loving father and husband will be greatly missed by all. Mr. Ritter served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Along with his wife Sally, Mr. Ritter is survived by a son, Raymond E. Ritter III and his life companion, Carol Wilson of York; a daughter, Letha A. McCullough and her husband William P. of Dover; 12 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; a sister, Barbara A. Stoner of Hanover, and a daughter-in-law, Catherine M. Ritter of Harrisburg. In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by three sons, Harry E. Mason, William H. Mason, and Rolland W. Ritter, and a grandson, Raymond E. Ritter IV.
