Pauline L. (Marshall) Thompson, 92, of 25 Prospect Avenue, Milton, went home to be with the Lord, July 15, 2010, 12:10AM at her residence. Born April 29, 1918 in Milton, the daughter of the late William and Ruthella Lewis Marshall. She was married to the late William Thompson, who preceded her in death in 1976. Mrs. Thompson was a cook at Bucknell University, Sigma Chi Fraternity for 18 years. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul AME Church in Milton, where she was very active until 11 years ago and held positions of assistant church secretary, president of the Willing Workers, secretary-treasurer of the Laura Woodson Missionary Society, member of the Stewardess Board, Trustees and Finance Committee. She also served as secretary for the Pittsburgh Conference Women's Missionary Society Area IV for 10 years. Mrs. Thompson served her community as a two-term councilwoman for the Borough of Milton, charter and Board of Directors member of the Milton Area Chapter of the AARP # 3721, and on the Board of Directors of the Upper Northumberland County Chapter of the American Red Cross. She was a member of the United Methodist Woman of Lewisburg District, Fifth Ward Hose Company Ladies Auxiliary, Riverwood Auxiliary, Union County Homemakers, and Evangelical Community Hospital Auxiliary. She volunteered for the Lewisburg United Methodist Home Auxiliary, Milton Community Pool, and the Milton Salvation Army. Mrs. Thompson leaves to cherish her memory three sons, William L. and daughter-in-law Peggy of Berwick, Carl D. "Dave" and his fianc矒osa of Sunbury, and James S. of Milton with whom she lived, and one daughter Margaret R. Henderson of Newark, Delaware, 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, one great great grandson, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Home Going Service will be held at 1:00 PM. Monday July 19th 2010, at Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service with the Reverend Donald Spiller officiating. There will be a public viewing on Sunday July 18th 2010 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. Burial will be at Harmony Cemetery in Milton. Memorials may be sent to the American Heart Association.
