Paul E. 'Poody' Welshans

LOGANTON - Paul E. “Poody” Welshans, 55, passed away, Monday, March 2, 2015 at his residence. He was born October 12, 1959 in Jersey Shore a son of the late Harry and Mabel (Kulp) Welshans. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed tinkering and carpentry. Paul was a great friend, nurse, brother and he loved animals especially humming birds. He will be loved and missed by all. He loved his cats and spoiled them. He cared for his brother Alan Welshans. Paul was a very frugal man who was often seen in blue jeans a tee shirt and barefoot. Surviving are two brothers Alan Welshans and Howard (April) Welshans both of Loganton, two sisters Ardena (Jeff) Cathcart of Jersey Shore and Karen Welshans of Woolrich. Several nieces and nephews and four great nieces survive. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Randy and Harry. A visitation will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall. Private burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
