WATSONTOWN - Merle L. Plymette, 83, died on Sunday, November 6, 2011 at SUN Home Hospice Care Center, Sunbury. Merle was born on April 13, 1928 in Dewart and was the son of the late Elwood “Ted” and Florence (Bieber) Plymette. On November 10, 1951, he married the former Mildred R. (Robenolt) who survives, and would have celebrated 60 years as husband and wife this week. Merle had served in the U.S. Army as a PFC and was a former employee of Turbotville Block Co. and Watsontown Trucking Co. and retired in 1992 from LUN Data Center. He was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Watsontown where he had served on the council and was a member of the Sun Valley Scottish Rite Club and the Watsontown Masonic Lodge 401. In addition to his wife Mildred, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law; Gary L. and Valerie Plymette of San Jose, CA, one daughter; Gayle P. Hagerman of Watsontown, four grandchildren; Adam Hagerman and his wife Amanda of Alexandria, VA, Kyle Ansberry of San Jose, CA, Amanda Plymette and her fiancée Kyle Hoff of Fresno, CA and Alexander Plymette of San Jose, CA, two brothers and one sister-in-law; Marlin Plymette of Watsontown and Max and Kathleen Plymette of Watsontown and one sister; Mary Louise Malcolm of Jacksonville, FL. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by and infant son; David Plymette. The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 11, 2011 at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 400 Main St., Watsontown, PA 17777. The Reverend James H. Fladland will officiate the service. There will be a public viewing from 9 to 11 a.m. on Friday at the church. Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy. The family will provide the flowers and memorial contributions may be made to SUN Home Health & Hospice, 61 Duke St., P.O. Box 232, Northumberland, PA 17857-0232 or to the First Evangelical Lutheran Church. Arrangements are being handled by The Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, 125 N. Front St., Milton, PA 17847.
