Mary I. (Mummert) Trostle

DOVER- Mary I. (Mummert) Trostle, 91, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at ManorCare Heath Services- Kingston Court, with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late G. Jacob Trostle, who passed away on March 12, 1988. A celebration of life service will be 11 a.m. on Monday, May 16, 2011 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York, with Pastor John Harman officiating. A viewing will be from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be held at Paradise Holtzschwamm Union Cemetery. Mrs. Trostle was born on June 16, 1919 in York, a daughter of the late William A. and Gladys M. (Jacobs) Mummert. Mary was a homemaker and later worked at the former Lee Ray Sportswear Co. in Dover for 20 years. Mrs. Trostle attended Friendship Community Church. She was a member of the East Berlin Senior Center and AARP. Mary enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking and caring for her family. Mrs. Trostle is survived by four sons, Ronald Trostle and his wife, Yvonne of Red Lion, Bradley Trostle of Lancaster, John Trostle and his wife, Jane of York and Daniel Trostle and his wife, Mary of Dover; three daughters, Lois Perez of Dover, Brenda Williams of York, and Susan Trostle of York; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and a very special friend, Albert Smyser. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mariann Trostle; a brother, Ralph Mummert; and a sister Ruth Daubenspeck Memorial contributions may be made to Friendship Community Church, 3380 Fox Run Rd., Dover, PA 17315.
