POTTSVILLE- Mary F. Steffan, 100, resident of Schuylkill Center, Pottsville, formerly of Pottsville, where she resided with her son and daughter-in-law, passed away Thursday at Schuylkill Center. Born in Czechoslovakia on January 4, 1910 she was a daughter of the late Peter and Mary Kosc Fedorchak. Mary was a member of the former Immaculate Conception Church, St. Clair. She was also a member of the Senior Citizens, Pottsville. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Steffan, who passed away in 1959; her two sisters, Elizabeth Dumchus and Anna Gawrychowski; her two brothers, George and Andrew Fedorchak. Mary is survived by her daughter, Helen Kane, wife of Edward, of Mary D; her son, John Steffan, husband of Juleanne, of Pottsville; her 5 grandchildren, Edward Kane, husband of Terri, of Still Creek, Robert Kane, husband of Susan, of Berwyn, David Steffan, husband of Armela, of Marlin, Nancy Steffan, of Maryland, and Michael Steffan, husband of Cathy, of State College; her 7 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. in St. Clare of Assisi Church, East Hancock Street, St. Clair. Reverend William Glosser will officiate. Friends may call on Tuesday morning from 9:00 A.M. until time of Mass at the church. Interment will be held in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, St. Clair. Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of your choice in Mary's memory. Schlitzer-Allen-Pugh Funeral Home, Inc., Pottsville, is in charge of arrangements.
