MACKEYVILLE - Louis C. “Carl” Rumbalski, 80, died Saturday, August 19, at Lock Haven Hospital Emergency Room after being stricken at home. He was born in Bayonne, N.J. on Oct., 27, 1936 a son of the late Walter and Sophia (Wondoloski) Rumbalski. He attended Orange County Community College, State University of New York at New Paltz and graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology where he received a Master of Fine Arts. Carl retired in 1993 as a professor of Fine Arts at Lock Haven University. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Lock Haven. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, pottery, hunting and caring for his fruit trees. He also enjoyed his cats. He served in the U.S. Army as an engineer. Surviving are two sons; Carl W. (Lesa) Rumbalski of Youngstown, OH and Yuri J. (Jen) Rumbalski of Lock Haven also two daughters Natasha Marie (Jeffrey) Taylor of Mackeyville and Kalina Jean Rumbalski of Howard. Six grandchildren Joshua, Kazimierz, Jacob, Zofia, Bryce and Bianka also two nephews Lee Rumbalski and Carl Rumbalski both of Silver Lake, NY. He was preceded in death by two brothers Edward and Raymond and a sister Caroline Rumbalski. A memorial mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 310 Water St., Lock Haven with the Rev. Joseph Orr officiating. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions can be made to Immaculate Conception Church or St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Helt Funeral Chapel, Mill Hall has charge of arrangements.
