Lois I. (Meitzler) Defloria

Hanover—Lois I. (Meitzler) Defloria, 68, died Saturday, August 15, 2015 at York Hospital. A Celebration of Life Service will be 2 PM, Monday, August 24, 2015 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York. A visitation will be held from 1-2 PM, Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Born May 1, 1947 in York, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Loretta (Heilman) Meitzler. She was a graduate of William Penn High School. She was employed as an Optician for over 20 years with various companies throughout area including, East Coast Optical and Total Vision Eye Care. A former volunteer with the Girls Scouts of America, she also enjoyed crocheting, reading, sewing, puzzles, cooking and loved spending time family, especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Defloria is survived by four children, Joseph T. Meitzler and his wife, Heather A., of Spring Grove, Anthony L. Pranses of Maine, Jenifer L. Shearer of York and Jeanine U. Pranses of Hanover; nine grandchildren, Kim, Addie, Jimmy, Tiffany, Taylor, Jack, Tori, Sam and Anna; one great grandson, Jeffrey; one brother, Ronald Leech of York; one sister, Renae Sears of Columbia and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister, Ginger Strausbaugh. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Girls Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania, 350 Hale Ave, Harrisburg, PA 17104.
