York—Larry G. Flohr, 64, died Sunday, March 1, 2009 at his residence in West Manchester Township. He was the husband of Sandra L. (Landis) Flohr, to whom he was married for 39 years. A celebration of life service will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York, with the Rev. Judith A. McKee of Union Lutheran Church, officiating. A visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral chapel. Burial will be held in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Mr. Flohr was born September 14, 1944 in York, a son of the late Robert H.D. Flohr Sr., and Dorothy I. (Myers) Flohr. He worked as a millwright with York Wallcoverings, where he retired after nearly 27 years of employment. Larry was a United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was also a life member of the Vigilant Social Club and a member of the Vigilant Fire Company, and 12th ward democratic social club. He loved going fishing in Canada with his friends, vacationing at the Delaware Bay with his brother, sister and their families, train building with his grandchildren and for several years in hunted with friends in Potter County. In addition to wife, Mr. Flohr is also survived by one son, Larry R. Flohr and his wife Tara of York, one daughter, Krista R. Dupes and her husband Master Sergeant Christopher Dupes of San Antonio, TX, six grandchildren, Jensen and Spenser Dupes, Jacob Flohr, Parker Dupes, Nathan Flohr and Ryan Dupes, two brothers, Robert D. Flohr Jr., of Dover and Steven E. Flohr of York, one sister, Kathleen A. "Kit" Hansford of York and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Barry M. Flohr.
