Kraig E. Herman

MANCHESTER—Kraig E. Herman, 48, passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at his residence in Manchester Borough.

A Celebration of Life Tribute will be 4PM Monday, October 3, 2022 at Union Fire Company No. 1, 201 York St., Manchester. Viewings will be held from 2-4PM Sunday, at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York and from 2-4PM, Monday at Union Fire Company No. 1. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.

Born January 15, 1974 in York, he was a son of Angie M. (Mitchell) Herman and the late Frank “Ed” Herman.

He was employed with the Commonwealth of PA as a Fire Service Education Specialist.

Kraig dedicated decades of his life to public service through various organizations including Life Member of Liberty Fire Co—North York, President and Line Officer with Union Fire Co. No 1 of Manchester, 25 plus years of service as an EMT serving York County, former 911 dispatcher and fire instructor. He was also a 1992 graduate of Central York High School and earned his Bachelors Degree from HACC for Fire Safety. An avid Baltimore Orioles fan, he also enjoyed watching MASH. Above all, he loved his boys with all his life.

Kraig is also survived by his sons, Noah C. and Kody E. Herman of Mt. Wolf; two brothers, Kevin E. Herman and wife, Karen of York and Kerry E. Herman and wife, Debra of York and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Union Fire Company No. 1, 201 York St., Manchester, Pa 17345.
