POTTSVILLE Joseph T. Fitzpatrick, 85, of Pottsville, died Monday afternoon at Seton Manor, Orwigsburg. Born in Pottsville on Jan 30, 1924, he was a son of the late John J. and Margaret V. Conley Fitzpatrick. He was a 1942 graduate of Pottsville Catholic High School. Until retiring, he was employed by ALCOA. Joseph was a veteran of World War II, serving his country in the Army. He was stationed in the South Pacific and the Quadal Canal. He was also a member of the Catholic War Vets. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Pottsville. Surviving Joseph are: a son, Russell, Schuylkill Haven, a grandson, Benjamin, Schuylkill Haven, two sisters, Elizabeth Sullivan, Norristown and Kathleen Morgan, Charlestown, SC; a brother Michael, Center Valley; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: two sisters, Margaret Fitzpatrick, and Rosemarie Daly and a brother John Fitzpatrick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 AM from the Church of Saint Patrick, 4th & Mahantongo St., Pottsville. The Reverend Msgr. Edward O'Connor will officiate. Family and friends may call from the Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, 6th & W. Market St., Pottsville, on Thursday evening from 7-9 PM. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Pottsville.
