Joan G . (Mckinley) Meyer

York—Joan G. (McKinley) Meyer, 69, died Saturday, December 26, 2009 at Colonial Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of Glenn D. Meyer, with whom she celebrated 46 years of marriage on March 9th. A graveside service will be held 10 a.m., Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at Prospect Hill Cemetery, with her pastor, the Rev. Darby J. Nace officiating. A funeral cortege will form at the Pennsylvania Ave entrance of the cemetery at 9:45 a.m. Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc, 1551 Kenneth Rd, York, is in charge of arrangements. Born January 10, 1940 in Red Lion, she was the daughter of the late, James and Josephine B. (Einsig) McKinley. She was employed as a Receptionist with Glatfelter Insurance Group and York Machinery. She was also a self employed hairdresser for several years. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Manchester. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Meyer is also survived by one daughter, Jody L. Tucker of Egg Harbor Township, NJ, one son, William C. Meyer of York and two grandchildren.
