DOVER--Jerel “Jerry” R. Anderson, 73, passed away May 16, 2023 at his residence in Dover Township. He was the husband of Connie A. (Spring) Anderson to whom he was married for 51 years.
A Celebration of Life Tribute will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York. Officiating the service will be the Rev. Born March 25, 1950 in Columbia, PA, he was a son of the late Aden C. and Janet L. (Cunningham) Anderson. Jerry graduated from West York High School, after which he enlisted in the United States Air Force and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War.
Jerry was employed at Caterpillar as a maintenance mechanic for over 20 years. Following his work with Caterpillar, he took a job as a network administrator with the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources until his retirement in 2017.
An avid Penn State Football and NASCAR fan, he enjoyed taking cruises with his wife and friends. He was a very skilled handyman, who could fix anything and a member of the Shiloh American Legion and Jefferson Rifle Club. Jerry loved and treasured his family with all his heart. He loved spending time with his daughters and grandchildren and was always eager to attend any sporting event or activity.
In addition to his wife, Jerry is also survived by two daughters, Pamela S. (Anderson) Funk and her husband, R. Brian of Manchester and Paula R. (Anderson) March and her husband, Jason W. of Dover; four grandchildren, Connor B., Morgan R. and Dylan R. Funk and Slade W. March; one brother, Rodney L. Anderson of Dover; one sister, Teena M. Henry of Seven Valleys and many nieces and nephews.
Our time with him was too short but we know he is no longer in pain and he’s with our Heavenly Father. Jerry will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
