YORK – James I. “Jimmy” Hague IV, 36, passed on unexpectedly on Saturday, June 19, 2021. Jimmy was born November 13, 1984 to parents, James I. Hague, III and Karen E (Bankert) Hague of York. James was a 2003 graduate of West York Area High School, a 2007 graduate of Millersville University, in 2009 he earned his Master’s Degree in College Student Personnel from Bowling Green University, Bowling Green, OH. He worked in Student Affairs, most recently as Director of Student Life at Ball State University in Muncie, IN where he was also pursuing his Ph.D. He also served as Assistant Director of Housing and Residence Life and was a Residence Hall Director. Jimmy had previously served as Student Success Coordinator and Hall Coordinator at both University of Maryland Baltimore Campus (UMBC) and Ball State. Always an advocate for the importance of higher education, James’s goal was to improve students understanding and perspective while improving their experience daily. He had a direct approach to advice for everyone he encountered. His delivery and diction were constantly on point. He had the ability to discuss and debate subjects with ease and accuracy. Jimmy had an amazing recall for details. He will be always loved and whole heartedly missed by his loving family, friends, colleagues and students. Jimmy was an active supporter of LGBTQ rights and programs and enjoyed numerous family trips to Walt Disney World. In addition to his adoring parents, James is survived by his sister, Jamie M. Beck and husband Colby of Seven Valleys; his maternal grandmother, Norma J. Becker of York; his aunts and uncles, Kathy and Dan Wildasin of Hanover, Alan and Tanya Bankert of Spring Grove, Mark and Linda Hague of Madeira Beach, FL; nieces and nephews, Amber, Gabriella, Darrius and Colby J.; and cousins, Danny, Cora, Melissa and Amanda. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Kenneth E. Bankert and paternal grandparents, James I. Hague, Jr. and Annette M. Hague; and an uncle, Wayne E. Bankert. A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, July 18, 2021 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York with Rev. Keith C. Fair officiating. A visitation will be held from 1-2:00 PM Sunday at the Funeral Chapel. Jimmy’s Tribute Service will be webcast on his obituary page at www.HeffnerCare.com The family requests attendees wear Disney related attire for the visitation and service.
