Irene H. (Harris) Nusz

YORK- Irene (Harris) Nusz, 92, died Saturday, March 8, 2008 at the Golden Livingcenter- Blue Ridge Mountain Assisted Living, Harrisburg. She was the wife of the late Elmer N. Nusz. A Life Tribute Service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2008 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York with her pastor, Rev. Kevin T. Shively officiating. A viewing will be from 12 to 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Mrs. Nusz was born in Fredrick, MD on March 11, 1915, a daughter of the late W. Albert & Martha E. (Staley) Harris. She was a graduate of Fredrick High School, Class of 1932. Mrs. Nusz was a life member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church, York and taught Kindergarten Sunday school there for several years. She was a former Cub Scouts of America Den Mother. Mrs. Nusz was an avid Pro- Bowl football and Penn State Nittany Lions football fan. She also enjoyed watching golf. Mrs. Nusz always liked to make people laugh. Surviving are her son, Michael E. and his wife, Lucy M. Nusz of Harrisburg; grandson, Kevin L. and his wife, Georgine M. Nusz of York; three step grandchildren, Jeremy, Garrett & Allen Stauffer, all at home; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Sally I. Scott; daughter-in-law, Linda R. Nusz; grandson, Kenneth M. Nusz, and brother, Charles Harris. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 839 W. Market St., York, PA 17401.
