George W. Willis, Jr.

DOVER -George W. Willis, Jr. 83, died Thursday, March 05, 2009 at Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of the late Kathryn M. (Grogg) Willis. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 PM Monday, March 9, 2009 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York, with the Rev. Dr. Guy D. Carrigan officiating. A viewing will be held from 12-1:00 PM, Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Full military rites will be provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Mr. Willis was born November 6, 1925 in York, a son of the late George W. Sr. and Edith A. (Kottcamp) Willis. He was employed with Borg-Warner for over 37 years until his retirement in 1980. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving his country during WWII. Mr. Willis enjoyed traveling to his second home in Dagsboro, DE where he would spend his free time fishing. Mr. Willis is survived by three brothers, Philip H. Willis of Dallastown, Larry J. Willis of York, and Randy L. Willis of Dover; a sister Joyce Eckenrode of York; and many nieces and nephews.
