DOVER – Gene W. Warner, 87, formerly of Red Lion, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at Providence Place of Dover. He was the husband of Miriam I. “Mit” (Hilt) Warner to whom he was married for 67 years. A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held at 2:30 PM Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with full military honors presented by York County Veterans Honor Guard. A viewing will be held from 1:30-2:30 PM Saturday at the Funeral Home. Private burial will be in Windsor Church of God Cemetery. Mr. Warner’s Tribute Service will be broadcast live on the Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel Facebook page or at https://www.facebook.com/olewilertributes/ Born July 5, 1932 in Windsor Twp., a son of the late Earnest F. and Ester M. (Baker) Warner, he had worked at Trojan Yacht Co. in Lancaster for many years and later retired from Yorktowne Kitchens. Mr. Warner was a member of Windsor Church of God where he enjoyed many church get-togethers and friends. Mit and Genie loved to travel, tend their flowers that filled both the inside and outside of their home and watch their birds. Gene loved cars, family gatherings, celebrating holidays and of course, Mickey and Minnie. He was a US Army Veteran of The Korean War where he earned a Bronze Star. In addition to his wife, Mr. Warner is survived by nieces, nephews and his sister in law, Dawn Warner of Red Lion. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Korean War Veterans Assoc.
