WILKES-BARRE-Elizabeth M. "Betty" Williams, 93, formerly of Coal Street, passed away Thursday afternoon in the Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas. Born in Luzerne on May 22, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Hazel (Decker) Nafus. Prior to retiring, she was employed as an aide at the Bear Creek Nursing Home. She was a member of Eastern Star and was involved with the Salvation Army. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Martin; second husband, Evan J. Williams; son Edward Martin; great-granddaughter Carrie Martin; 4 sisters and 3 brothers. Surviving are her daughter, Dorothy Morrissey; daughter-in-law Helen Martin; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; brothers Howard Nafus, David Nafus; sister Erma Traglia, A memorial service will be held Monday evening at 5 p.m. at the Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, Inc., 465 South Main Street, Wilkes-Barre.
