RED LION – Doris C. (Graybeal) Snyder, 76, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2019 at her home. She was the wife of Dean S. Snyder to whom she married on February 14, 1959. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Bethel United Methodist Church, 1674 Furnace Road, Brogue with Pastor Kim Cartwright officiating. A viewing will be held from 9-11:00 AM Thursday at the Church. Casual attire is requested for the services. Burial will be in Bethel U.M. Cemetery. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Snyder was born March 21, 1942 in Forest Hill, MD; a daughter of the late Creed and Nedra (Edwards) Graybeal. Over the years, Doris had worked at Red Lion Bus Co., Barry’s Country Food Market and retired from Home Depot. During her retirement years she enjoyed working at Toomey’s Auction. She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, Conservation Society of York Co., had served as Vice President of New Bridgeville Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary and was a proud supporter of Conrads Baseball. Mrs. Snyder loved going antiquing, attending auctions and participating in archeological digs. She also enjoyed traveling to see the elk in northern PA. Doris cherished her time as a caregiver for numerous elderly friends. Mostly, she enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Snyder is survived by a daughter, Vickie L. and husband Lynn Waltemyer of Brogue; two sons, James D. and wife Marie Snyder of Airville and Thomas C. and wife Tracie Snyder of Felton; five grandchildren, Renae and husband Kevin Sigler, Chad Waltemyer and fiancée Mallory Ziegler, Joshua and wife Summer Snyder, Anthony Snyder, Corbin Snyder and companion Amanda Nace; a step grandson, Nick and wife Caitlyn Herbst; eight great grandchildren, Dustin, Katelyn, Ashton, Sierra, Braydon, Julian, Tallon and Daxton; three step great grandchildren, Skylynn, Jordan and Melanie; five sisters, Carolyn Crawford of Bel Air, MD, Nancy Green of Nashville, TN, Mildred Bacon of Felton, Nedra Jean Eaton of Dover and Theda Maie Otter of Stewartstown; and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Health & Welfare Committee, c/o Bethel U.M. Church, 1674 Furnace Rd., Brogue, PA 17309.
