YORK – Donna M. (Rader) Nicholas, 72, passed away Friday, April 15, 2022 at York Hospital. She was the wife of John D. Nicholas with whom she would have celebrated 52 years of marriage on May 23rd. A Mass of Catholic Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, April 21, 2022 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 950 W. Market Street, York with Rev. Dominic Azagbor, OP officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 PM in Fernwood Cemetery, 6501 E. Baltimore Ave., Lansdowne, PA. Friends and family will meet at the entrance of the cemetery at 2:15 PM. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements. Donna was born on August 30, 1949 in Philadelphia, a daughter of the late George and Ritta (Hudome) Rader. She worked for 15 years at Eastminster Presbyterian Church Pre-School where she was lovingly known as Ms. Nick. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan and never missed watching the Olympics. Donna’s happy place was Sea Isle City, New Jersey where she loved to spend time with her family and her dog Nikki. She always found joy in keeping up with the goings on of her “grands”, and her social media skills were always a source of laughter for them. In addition to her husband, Donna is survived by three sons, Jeff (Kim) Nicholas of Collegeville, PA, Ken (Karen) Nicholas of Cary, NC and Chris (Elizabeth) Nicholas of York; a daughter, Jaclyn (Justin) Rowlands of Sinking Spring; eight “grands,” Griffin, Sophia, Caroline, Grace, Hope, Katie, Matthew and Casey; and her beloved Cockapoo “Nikki”. She was preceded in death by a brother, Craig Rader and is survived by her cousin Ria Hudome.
