Shiloh- C. Fred Koller, Jr., 83, of West Manchester Township, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Donna L. (Burkholder) Koller. The couple celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on September 21, 2016. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York, with a visitation from 9-10 a.m. Certified Celebrant Betty Frey will be officiating at the service. Mr. Koller was born in West York on May 15, 1934, a son of the late Claude F. and Florence Marie (Strausbaugh) Koller, Sr. He worked for 42 years as a funeral director. The first half of his career he worked in the family business and the second half for Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc. Mr. Koller was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in York. He was a 1952 graduate of West York High School, received his Bachelor of Science Degree from York College, and was a graduate of Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. He received his Funeral Director License in 1958. He was a former member of York County Funeral Directors Association and Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association. He was a life member and served on the board of Viking Athletic Association and was a life member of Reliance Fire Company. He enjoyed playing softball up until the age of 42 for the Viking Athletic Association and Zion United Methodist Church. He served in the US Navy in the Korean War where he was a Hospital Corpsman. Mr. Koller leaves a son, Brett Koller and his wife Linda of York; two daughters, Kim Shields in Shiloh and Alysia Boyer and her husband Bill of York; nine grandchildren, Mackenzie Shields, Breah, Benjamin, Natalie, Calvin, and Sarah Koller, Billy, David, and Joshua Boyer; a sister, Carolyn Klinefelter of Dover; a brother-in-law, Ronald Burkholder and his wife Sandy of Myrtle Beach, SC, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Orvin and Pauline Burkholder; a sister, Patricia Graham, and brothers-in-law, Tom Burkholder and Gary Klinefelter.
