Alma M. Walmsley

WELLSBURG, NY - Alma M. Walmsley Age 98, of 16201 Berwick Turnpike, Gillett, PA passed away at home Saturday, June 30, 2007. Alma was born June 12, 1909 in Towanda, PA daughter of the late Harry and Phoebe Vanderpool Smith. She attended area schools and was married to the late Vernor L. Walmsley who died August 26, 2004. Alma was a member of the Bentley Creek Wesleyan Church and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Survivors include her children; Vernor J. Walmsley, Donald M. Walmsley both of Centerville, PA, George and Alice Walmsley of Bentley Creek, PA, Mary and Paul Novotny of Centerville, PA, Laura and David Cooley of LeRaysville, PA, Alma Stroud of Hornbrook, PA, 26 grandchildren, many great and great-great grandchildren. Her husband Vernor L., a brother and sister-in-law John and Lois Smith, granddaughter Susan Bates and great grandson, Benjamin Walmsley, predeceased her. Family and friends are invited to call Tuesday, July 3, 2007 from 7 to 8 PM at the Roberts Funeral Home, Inc. 279 Main Street Wellsburg, NY. Funeral and committal services will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 8 PM. Alma will be laid to rest next to her husband in Oak Hill Cemetery, Towanda, PA.
